Thank you for being so very remarkable!
As a former Woman of Achievement Awards winner and/or former YWCA Spokane Board Member, you play a very special role in ensuring YWCA Spokane’s dedication to eliminating racism and empowering women is known throughout our Spokane region.
We wish to honor you and all our alumnae, appreciatively known as our “Y Women” circle of friends, by inviting you to be our guest at the Alumnae Reception on October 11th at 10:00am, preceding this year’s Women of Achievement awards luncheon.
We hope you join us and enjoy a special toast with past and present honorees and board members. YWCA Spokane CEO, Regina Malveaux, will be there to personally welcome you and update us all on important YWCA matters. More information about the reception will be sent to you soon!
This year, the awards luncheon will be held Friday, October 11th from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the Spokane Convention Center. We hope you are planning to attend!
First Y Women Newsletter
In addition to this special reception, we would like to honor you further by creating a first-time alumnae newsletter that will be distributed at the 2019 Women of Achievement Awards luncheon.
You are an inspiration to potential Y Women, and we want to make sure that everyone understands that active participation in YWCA Spokane makes us part of an exceptional group of women committed to the health of our community.
If you haven’t had a chance to submit your Y Women update, please take a few moments to provide any updates about your career advancements, recent achievements, or any other updates you wish to share.
Should you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for all your incredible support!
A Message From Our Y Women Co-Chairs
When YWCA Spokane’s board president asked for volunteers to join the committee for the 2019 Women of Achievement Luncheon, we looked at each other and knew, instantly, where we wanted to put our efforts. We were acutely aware that the success of Spokane’s YWCA is a result of outstanding women in this community – the former board members and award alumnae who precede us. We wanted the chance to know you and to help build a strong and enduring support network for the future of our local YWCA.
You are the Y Women, and the essential work of providing YWCA Spokane’s shelter and support services to women and children when they need it most, depends on you. The creation of this new Y Women newsletter is just the first step in building a sense of community within this circle. It provides a chance to introduce you to each other while also sharing and celebrating ongoing successes in life. Some of you have shared career advancements, some are proud grandmothers, and the discovery of a new life purpose or mission has also been noted. It’s all so very exciting!
Whether your life is becoming increasingly complex, or it is beginning to grant you some spaciousness, we ask that you consider deepening your connection to YWCA Spokane. Partner with us as we find ways to continue our support for this critical agency through volunteerism, celebration, and donation.
Over the next several months, you will again hear from us as we reach out to you to join us in the advancement of YWCA’s mission – a dedication to eliminating racism, empowering women, standing up for social justice, helping families, and strengthening communities. Our community and YWCA Spokane needs you. We need each other to make this happen.
Debra Schultz & Mary Alberts, Y Women Committee Co-Chairs
Y Inspires Event
New this year, the Women of Achievement award luncheon will include a special opportunity for young women of high school age to attend the luncheon who are curious about, and have the heart for, the work we do at YWCA Spokane.
In addition, an inaugural post-luncheon workshop exclusively created for high school-aged young women has been created to provide these young women with an opportunity to meet with this year’s keynote speaker, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina. Learn more about our amazing keynote at ywcaspokane.org/woa2019.
Scholarships For Young Women To Attend The Luncheon
Because many of these young women will be financially unable to afford to attend, we believe the Y Women community could be the perfect circle of friends to sponsor discounted seats at the luncheon for these promising young citizens. If you can help to fund this critical piece of growing our network in an intentional and meaningful way, please complete the form below. If you would prefer an invoice or to use a check, please email email@example.com or call 509-789-9312.
Thank you for being you! Without your help, YWCA Spokane could never have obtained the recognition we have for being one of the most effective chapters in the country. Our work in providing safe housing, education, and opportunity for women and families in need, has become a template for other Y’s throughout the U.S. Help us continue this work through your ongoing involvement. CONNECTION is central to a strong and vibrant community. Stay involved – Stay connected!
