Thank you to the Women Helping Women Fund for their Impactful Gift!

Thank you to the Women Helping Women Fund for your grant to benefit YWCA Spokane’s Domestic Violence Safe Shelter!

Because of their amazing support, YWCA Spokane’s Shelter will be able to widen its reach and provide more resources to women and families escaping situations of domestic violence. Currently, at YWCA Spokane, our Shelter accomplishes the following:

  • 500 women and children receive safe shelter each year from domestic violence through our housing services, totaling nearly 9000 nights of safety and rest.
  • While our shelter does not serve men, we can often provide other safe sheltering options available for male survivors of intimate partner violence, so please, reach out to us.
  • The shelter is a large home-like residence with women and children living cooperatively and sharing in the household tasks.
  • Advocates are available to help with safety planning, practical and emotional support, education around domestic violence and healthy relationships, and referral to community resources.

With Women Helping Women Fund’s help, we will be able to empower women in some of the most difficult times of their lives.
