Volunteer Spotlight – Jim
YWCA Spokane would like to express our sincere gratitude to Jim through this month’s Volunteer Spotlight.
Jim Vernon first came to YWCA Spokane as an event volunteer for 2017’s Spring Fling Champagne Brunch and Silent Auction. Having recently moved to the west coast from Ohio, he was looking for something meaningful he could do to occupy his time. Jim blew us away at event check-in, greeting everyone who arrived with his signature quiet charm, and keeping things organized for guests at check-out. After Spring Fling, he joined our Development Office team as our twice-a-week Office Volunteer.
A retired Air Force engineer, Jim has an amazing mind for numbers, and incredible patience for the most menial of tasks. He consistently reminds us that he is happy to do anything at all that will lighten our load and benefit the women and families our agency serves. His positive attitude and can-do spirit are infectious. He is an integral part of our team and of our agency, and we’re so grateful for his volunteered time.
