JEAN, you make an incredible difference.
DonationS received
Over the past few months, the YWCA Spokane community of staff, volunteers, and clients have joyously recieved many pieces of artwork from Jean Rice. Jean, pictured to the right, donated a collection of prints to YWCA Spokane. Jean hoped for the prints to be hung in our domestic violence safe shelter, where they now reside.
Jean is the mother of Melanie Wilson, a long time YWCA Spokane employee with over 19 years dedicated to supporting survivors of intimate partner domestic violence. Jean’s donation, the collection of prints, is just one of the ways she and her family have given to YWCA Spokane. We are incredibly grateful for all that Jean and her family have given to YWCA Spokane and the support they have provided to survivors of domestic violence in our community.
Everlasting impact
Speaking of the collection of prints, Jean said:
“I wanted to bring the outdoors indoors with calm, peaceful, lovely prints to raise spirits, and provide some serenity during difficult times.”
In total, Jean’s collection of donated artwork includes 75 unique prints, some of which are pictured in the gallery below. A print from Jean Rice now hangs in each room of our main domestic violence safe shelter as well as each room of our safe shelter’s satellite locations. There, the prints will stay availabe for years to come, aiding in the healing journey of numerous survivors of intimate partner domestic violence and their children.
