Courageous Conversations
YWCA Racial and Social Justice Facebook Group

This year we have celebrated and mourned together through an intense period of growth and tragedy in our communities. Racial and social justice have come to the forefront after many abuses from various systems have been brought to light in the wake of George Floyd’s tragic death.
YWCA Spokane’s Racial and Social Justice Group is the start of many courageous conversations we hope to have with you in this new year. As a community we will explore many issues, focusing on different topics each month. Our first topic, Domestic Violence and Racism, will be a great launching point for anyone interested in social justice. To get fresh perspectives we hope that many will participate with us on this journey of personal growth and community development.
To join, find the group on Facebook at facebook.com/groups/ywcaspokaneRSJ. New members will be required to answer a couple short questions about their racial and social justice interests. Members will also need to agree to group rules about respectful discussion in order to create and maintain a safe space for engaging with these issues and related personal experiences.
At YWCA Spokane, we are truly excited to begin the next step of our journey towards safety and justice for all. We hope you’ll join us in crafting this vision of love and care for the Spokane community.
