This MLK Day Weekend is full of ways to celebrate! First, on Saturday, January 19th, the MLK Family Outreach Center is hosting a Day of Service to prepare hygiene kits and host a canned food drive to benefit members of the community in need. Sunday’s celebration will be a Day of Fellowship to reflect on all that Dr. King and those involved in his mission did to benefit this country. Lastly, Monday will feature the MLK Day March and Resource Fair, where the community will be marching in support of Dr. King’s mission to advance the rights of African-Americans in the U.S., and to promote our mission of eliminating racism in our community.
Please join YWCA Spokane at the MLK Day March and Resource Fair! First, march with us to show support of African-Americans in our community and advancing the rights of those oppressed in our country. After the March, please come see us at the Resource Fair! Our Community Education and Outreach Coordinator, Nicole Nimens, along with other YWCA Spokane Advocates will be present to teach the community about our Racial and Social Justice work. Come learn how you can become involved in our mission, whether it be hosting a training at work or simply becoming more educated on these issues. We hope to see you there!
