Thank You to MultiCare for Keeping Survivors Safe and Healthy!

Thank you to MultiCare for your grant to benefit our Intimate Partner Domestic Violence Support Services!

Because of their amazing support, YWCA Spokane’s Intimate Partner Domestic Violence Support Services will be able to provide hospital advocacy to survivors in need of medical support. These funds will assist in recognizing survivors of Intimate Partner Domestic Violence in the hospital setting in order to connect them to support services, such as YWCA Spokane’s Safe Shelter or Women’s Opportunity Center. Through identifying victims of intimate partner domestic violence in the hospital setting, health practitioners and advocates will be able to diagnose and assess the primary reason for the hospital visit, the abuse, in addition to treating the physical injuries associated with the abuse. This comprehensive method of recognizing and responding to abuse will allow victims and survivors to have access to the resources needed to end the violence. Thank you to MultiCare for allowing this very necessary program to be formed!

In addition to supporting victims and survivors in the hospital setting, MultiCare will support survivors through bringing awareness to the prevalence of Intimate Partner Domestic Violence in our community, and the creation of a coalition to address this major concern. Through MultiCare’s gift, YWCA Spokane will be able to recognize, respond, and prevent this epidemic. Thank you, MultiCare, for this incredible gift!

Learn More about our support services

We deeply appreciate MultiCare for their commitment to empowering survivors and their families to escape domestic violence. Thank you for helping women and families escaping intimate partner domestic violence, and ensuring their safety and prosperity! Below is a quote from Angelic, a client who benefits from our Advocacy services. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank MultiCare for helping women like Angelic with their gift.

“I’ve used almost every one of the services here and it’s changed the trajectory of my life. I was thinking this morning, if it wasn’t for YWCA Spokane I can honestly say I don’t even know if I’d be alive. I was ready to give up. This place has been a huge part of changing the course of my life. It’s the people here. It’s been amazing.”- YWCA Spokane Client
