Family Justice Center Trauma-Informed Remodel

We Are Excited To Share With You The Newly Remodeled Family Justice Center Interview Room!

From This…                                           To This!

A Trauma-Informed & Welcoming Space

Now, when survivors of intimate partner domestic violence meet with YWCA Spokane legal advocates or with detectives from the Domestic Violence Task Force Unit who reside within the Family Justice Center located at YWCA Spokane, they will be introduced to meaningful services in a meeting space that is designed to be sensitive to the intense trauma clients experience.

Everything was considered when redesigning this space, with the deeply valued help of local interior designer and Associate with NAC Architecture, Marci Schreiber. From the type of lighting, the comfort of the seating, the aesthetics of the room, to the inspirational quotes on the walls; our team made sure all aspects of the space were designed to be trauma-sensitive.

This meeting room is often the first space a survivor experiencing when engaging with detectives and YWCA Advocates after a life-threatening experience with an abusive partner. It is important the space facilitates a sense of safety, calmness, and support while a survivor moves through one of the most difficult experiences of their life.

Thank You To The Elizabeth Pool Charitable Trust For Funding This Remodel!

We are so grateful to the Elizabeth Pool Charitable Trust for their donation to the Family Justice Center.  Because of their incredible gift, YWCA Spokane was able to remodel this room with no cost to our agency. This gift will make a lasting impact on survivors who access services by helping to create a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed space. We thank you!
