Trauma Processing Therapy for Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence and Their Families

Therapy Services are Temporarily Closed

YWCA Spokane is temporarily pausing our community-based mental health therapy services as we undergo an important period of evaluation and transition.

Having a mental health emergency? Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, for local resources.

Treatment Modalities Our program is designed to help you process trauma and alleviate symptoms related to the trauma that you have experienced.

Participation is voluntary and empowerment based. Using a variety of therapeutic practices, we provide a system of care that supports your ability to move through difficult situations. Through this approach, you will develop skills needed for long term, positive change at the speed and pace that is right for you.

Modalities used, as needed:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Brief Solution Focused Therapy
  • Expressive Art Therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Play and Sand Tray Therapy

Treatment Philosophy The relationship with a therapist is a collaborative one

We welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding your course of therapy at any time. Our therapists specialize in working with survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault/abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, anxiety, and depression. We serve adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families, all with a trauma-informed lens.

Mindful Moment Our Mental Health Team created a series of guided meditations and relaxation techniques.

They created this series with clients in mind, but anyone can access the videos and use the techniques if they are seeking to practice mindfulness in small and impactful moments.

This series of videos

  • can help us wind down and relax at night before bed
  • create a morning ritual to set intentions for the day,
  • and be used any time we’re experiencing high anxiety.
  • 그만큼 benefits of mindfulness include reduced stress & anxiety and improved focus.
