As part of our domestic violence prevention work, YWCA Spokane’s Prevention Team engages with youth in our community to promote healthy relationships through education, discussion, and skill-building utilizing an evidence-based curriculum.
YWCA Spokane’s Prevention Team partners with local youth programs, schools, and agencies to provide our key prevention services to young people. Through our group interactions, YWCA Spokane promotes a culture of respect and nonviolence with the goal of preventing possible future violent behavior.
We engage, educate, and empower youth to build lives and communities free from domestic and dating violence by offering tailored safety tools and resources.
YWCA Spokane’s Prevention Team utilizes an evidence-based curriculum called Safe Dates in Spokane high schools. The curriculum highlights skills recommended by the CDC for preventing dating abuse including building healthy relationships and feeling/dealing with emotions in a healthy way.
