Prevention Efforts For Youth

During Teen Domestic Violence Awareness Month, YWCA Spokane was joined by Citlalli Briseño, Program Supervisor for 행동하는 무헤레스, and Kami LaMoreaux, Violence Prevention Coordinator for Spokane 지역 가정 폭력 연합, to speak about their work with young people. Hosted by Lizbeth Reyes, YWCA Spokane’s Prevention Coordinator, all three spoke about challenges they face and what brings them joy in their work, as well as additional resources and how each one of us can advocate for prevention work.

Local Experts and YWCA Spokane Chart Pathways Forward from the 2020 Shecession

Thank you to everyone who joined us for YWCA Spokane’s inaugural Pathways Forward roundtable event!

In March 2021, we launched a new virtual education series focused on providing progress-minded conversation about issues facing our community. The first discussion addressed the Shecession taking place in Spokane and across the nation. ‘Shecession’ is a term used to refer to the current COVID-19 recession which has shown to predominately affects women. Moderated by YWCA Spokane CEO, Jeanette Hauck, our panelists offered possible solutions for women, employers, and community members to consider as we explore what our post-pandemic lives will look like.
