Pathways Forward는 지역 전문가, 지도자 및 YWCA 직원과의 대화에 커뮤니티를 참여시켜 앞으로 나아갈 수 있는 길을 열도록 설계된 무료 가상 교육 원탁 토론 시리즈입니다.

YWCA Spokane은 인종 차별을 없애고, 여성에게 권한을 부여하며, 사회 정의를 옹호하고, 가족을 돕고, 지역 사회를 강화하는 데 전념하고 있습니다. Pathways Forward 토론을 통해 우리는 커뮤니티를 참여시켜 우리의 업무와 사명에 영향을 미치는 현재 문제에 대해 배우고 모든 사람이 변화를 만들 수 있도록 힘을 실어줍니다.

Digital Abuse & DV

Émilie St-Pierre (Future Ada) and Chandler Dean (YWCA Spokane) join Jemma Riedel-Johnson for a Pathways Forward discussion on how digital abuse impacts survivors of domestic violence. moderated by Equity Coordinator, Lara Estaris. They also discussed what individuals and tech companies could do to help prevent or mitigate online abuse.

Disability Pride

Erin Ferrier and Misha Lehmann of Inland Northwest Disability Experience shared their time, expertise, and experiences with us for our July Pathways Forward moderated by Equity Coordinator, Lara Estaris. They focused on the intersectionality of disability and LGBTQ+ identities, the issues and barriers these communities face, and how to better care for them.

Prevention Efforts For Youth

During Teen Domestic Violence Awareness Month, YWCA Spokane was joined by Citlalli Briseño, Program Supervisor for 행동하는 무헤레스, and Kami LaMoreaux, Violence Prevention Coordinator for Spokane 지역 가정 폭력 연합to speak about their work with young people. Hosted by Lizbeth Reyes, YWCA Spokane’s Prevention Coordinator, all three spoke about challenges they face and what brings them joy in their work, as well as additional resources and how each one of us can advocate for prevention work.

Local Experts and YWCA Spokane Chart Pathways Forward from the 2020 Shecession

Thank you to everyone who joined us for YWCA Spokane’s inaugural Pathways Forward roundtable event!

In March 2021, we launched a new virtual education series focused on providing progress-minded conversation about issues facing our community. The first discussion addressed the Shecession taking place in Spokane and across the nation. ‘Shecession’ is a term used to refer to the current COVID-19 recession which has shown to predominately affects women. Moderated by YWCA Spokane CEO, Jeanette Hauck, our panelists offered possible solutions for women, employers, and community members to consider as we explore what our post-pandemic lives will look like.
