How Can Your Faith Community Respond to Violence in Our Community?
Faith Partners is a collaborative effort from the YWCA Spokane, Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network, Create Your Statement, and Abuse Recovery Ministry and Services. The goal is to provide education, resources and support for faith communities so they can facilitate advocacy, sanctuary and healing for people affected by domestic violence.
The Faith Partners are facilitating a free workshop on Monday August 8th called “Strategies for the Faith Community’s Response to Violence”. This free event is open to the public and will be located at the City Church, 1047 W Garland Ave, Spokane. Keynote speaker is Stuart Vogalman, Executive Pastor and Security Director for Valley Real Life in Chaplain Washington.
In addition to hearing the Keynote speaker, attendees can expect to receive a domestic violence training, hear survivor stories, enjoy a free breakfast, be provided with an opportunity to network, and receive helpful resources.
