Join YWCA Spokane during Week Without Violence as we engage the community with key Spokane experts and YWCA staff in a progress-minded conversation about how digital abuse impacts survivors of domestic violence on October 18th!
A new challenge will be shared via email Monday – Friday each week. As each day is released, the content will be made available at ywcaspokane/challenge.
The Racial Justice Challenge was designed to help community members dedicate time and space within their schedules to build more effective social justice habits, particularly around issues dealing with race, power, privilege, and leadership.
Each challenge includes daily prompts suggesting to take a few moments to dive into an article, podcast, or reflect on a personal experience.
This is an opportunity to further our learning into racial equity and social justice. The Challenge provides not only critical information and historical context to better understand systemic racism; we hope it proves to be a catalyst for ongoing application in racial and social justice efforts that help to create a fair, just, and equitable community.
Sign Up To Take The Racial Justice Challenge
The Racial Justice Challenge is accessible to anyone interested in learning more about racial equity and social justice and examining these issues in our own communities.
Consider inviting your friends, family, and co-workers to join you in powerful and courageous dialog and action by moving through the challenge topics together as a learning community.
Breaking the Cycle: A Better Man is a thought-provoking documentary screening and social justice event focused on raising awareness about domestic violence and promoting positive change. This event aims to shed light on the issue of domestic violence and inspire conversations about accountability, healing, and the importance of breaking the cycle of violence.
Join us for Breaking the Cycle: A Better Man and be a part of the movement to create a safer and more compassionate community.
Through the screening of the documentary “A Better Man,” attendees will witness the journey of a survivor and the man who abused her, as they come together years later to confront their past and seek understanding and healing. The film provides a unique and empathetic exploration of the complexities surrounding domestic violence, encouraging viewers to reflect on the impact of their own actions and relationships.
After the documentary screening, YWCA Spokane staff will lead a debrief of the documentary. Together we will discuss key takeaways from the film, how larger social factors played a role in the relationship, and what accountability and justice means in practice. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in open dialogue and gain valuable insights from the panelists’ diverse perspectives.
Breaking the Cycle: A Better Man seeks to create a safe and inclusive space for community members, advocates, and survivors to come together, learn, and take action towards ending domestic violence.
