YWCA Spokane Impact Statements

Our YWCA Spokane community is made up of amazing people, from our clients and staff to our donors and board members. Statements and stories illustrating the impact of our work at YWCA Spokane can connect these groups and promote justice and empowerment in our community by involving more people with our mission in action.

Impact statements allow us to celebrate successes, bring attention to injustice, and connect supporters to our work. Stories of every length and depth have the power to shape the media narrative, influence legislatures, raise critical funds, and lift up our fellow community members.

We’ve created this form to make it simple and easy for you to share these statements with us. Thank you for taking the time to reflect and share about the impact of the powerful work our team at YWCA Spokane does each and every day. Thank you!

Note: If you are a survivor who is considering sharing a part of your story with us, consider taking a look at this booklet from WSCADV called Owning Your Story Claiming Your Power.

Examples of impact statements

“The emotional comfort or wonderful teachers give our students is such a blessing. Our grandson had been through some traumatic events and was having a rough time. The staff was so calming for him. He didn’t want to go to school but his teacher hugged him so gently and talked to calmly to him. I know he felt the comfort and began to really enjoy school. I am grateful that they set him off in the right direction instead of adding to his fears.” – ECEAP Parent

“I have a reason to smile when I wake up. I am lucky to be alive, I feel. Your team listened to me and jumped to help me when I had no one in the world. I was on my last bit of strength when I came into the YWCA and today I have the strength to help others. You changed my entire world.” – Former Client
