Courageous Conversations

Learn, grow, and create ways to move forward in action together

YWCA Spokane invites you to build bridges towards equity through courageous community conversation.

We can't do this work alone. To truly move forward and build an equitable community where we can all thrive, we must find ways to have difficult conversations together as a community. We invite you to join us as we work to increase awareness about issues impacting those we serve, normalize language that will help us more clearly communicate with one and other, and identify ways we can take action to create real and lasting change.

Racial & Social Justice Spotlight Series

There are many amazing organizations and individuals in Spokane who are dedicated to creating a more equitable community for all. Through our RSJ Spotlight blog series, we work to highlight those in our community who are creating real and lasting change for a more equitable Spokane. Take a look and share these spotlights with your networks so we can help bring more attention to their incredible work.

White supremacy’s link to gun violence is alarming, with incidents like the Christchurch and Pittsburgh shootings highlighting this trend. Perpetrators often act out of racial hatred, using guns to target specific communities. Addressing this requires stricter gun control, better education, and improved online content monitoring.
