Women of Achievement 2017 – Photo Gallery

This event is the vital kick off of our annual campaign. We look for the support of over $700,000 annually from the community to sustain the work we do in Spokane and in the surrounding counties. We are so grateful for an amazing start to help meet this critical need.

Raising Awareness

ÒNot only do we raise funds for important YWCA services,Ó says Mireya Fitzloff, YWCA Spokane Board Member and Women of Achievement Luncheon Co-Chair, Òbut the luncheon provides an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence in our community.Ó

Best-selling author Janine Latus provided the keynote address. Latus is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir If I Am Missing Or Dead about her sisterÕs death by domestic violence. Since the bookÕs publication, Latus has toured all over the world to share her story and help prevent other women from suffering her sisterÕs fate. In her address, Latus shared the story of abuse in her family and relationships, and she discussed the importance of breaking our silence so we can end the chain of domestic violence.
