Una conferencia especial de un día para jóvenes

Este es un poderoso evento anual gratuito para jóvenes que se centra en el cuidado personal, la salud mental y las relaciones saludables. La intención es ofrecer a los jóvenes de Spokane un período de tiempo especial en el que puedan construir una comunidad y concentrarse en cuidar de sí mismos.

Cost: No fee to attend, costs covered by local sponsor

Online registration is required to participate. Registration is first come first come first serve. We have filled our initial 50 slots and have now opened a waitlist.

Información general

This event runs on a Saturday and is held from 11:00am- 3:00pm.

Los jóvenes disfrutarán de un brunch y una barra de chocolate caliente en La colmena mientras participa en talleres especiales con facilitadores que discutirán múltiples formas de participar en diferentes facetas del autocuidado. 

Calificación

Cualquier joven que tenga entre 11 y 17 años puede inscribirse siempre que se sienta cómodo en un espacio que centre la experiencia de personas que se identifican como mujeres jóvenes de color.

Registro

  • La inscripción en línea se abre aproximadamente un mes antes del evento.
  • No se requiere pago para asistir. 
  • Este evento tiene capacidad para atender a 50 jóvenes.

Llegando

A su llegada, los jóvenes pueden esperar:

  • ser recibido en la puerta
  • registrado en el evento
  • recibir un calendario de eventos
  • ser conducido al espacio del evento

Youth will then have the opportunity to enjoy brunch and meet other youth before the opening keynote. 

Conferencia inaugural

El día comienza con una increíble conferencia magistral de Jaime Stacy, fundador de SWAG, quien marca el tono y la intención del día.

Jaime es una líder solidaria en la comunidad de Spokane que se ha dedicado a defender el empoderamiento de nuestra juventud durante muchos años a través de su trabajo en el Distrito Escolar de Spokane y a través de su organización, BOTÍN. Le apasiona garantizar que todos los jóvenes con los que trabaja tengan un sentido de pertenencia y autoestima y estén equipados con las herramientas que necesitan para la autorregulación y una visión de su futuro. Facilitadores y Talleres

Después del discurso de apertura, los jóvenes se trasladarán a uno de los tres espacios para su primer taller.

  • Youth will have the opportunity to attend all three workshops.
  • Los talleres involucran diferentes debates, actividades y temas que ayudarán a los jóvenes a identificar formas de cuidar de sí mismos.

Nuestros facilitadores de talleres provienen de diversos orígenes y enfoques. Han creado oportunidades únicas para que los jóvenes aprendan unos de otros, compartan sus experiencias, discutan diferentes herramientas de cuidado personal mientras se ríen y construyen una comunidad juntos.

Priya Mhlophe

Priya serves as the Director of Student Success, Equity, and Diversity at Spokane Community College and is an advisor to the NAACP Youth Council, dedicated to uplifting young voices and fostering spaces where all students have access to resources. She brings a strong commitment to creating opportunities for young women of color to thrive, inspired by the values instilled by her mother, Amanda, who taught her the power of faith and resilience. Priya's work is centered on promoting self-care, growth, and empowerment for all.


Kameisha “Meme” Williams

Kameisha is a hairstylist, cosmetology educator, and local business owner of The Sanctuary Beauty and Wellness. It is Meme’s motto that beauty has no boundaries. No matter what hair texture, type, ethnicity or gender, she is here to help Spokane’s beautiful community look and feel like the absolute best version of themselves. Meme has been a local figure fighting for hair equality. We are excited to have Meme join us again this year with a workshop that will take a deeper look at what it means to provide love and care for yourself.
 


Prosparetti Coleman

Prosparetti is a community educator, advocate, and doula committed to transforming the wellness of Black and Brown women and girls. As the Founder of I Hear You Sis, she creates environments that are culturally resonant and deeply rooted in storytelling, collective healing, and embodied support.

Prosparetti's approach is grounded in the wisdom of the body and the power of shared experiences. Through movement, creativity, and culturally informed practices, she cultivates spaces that honor individual journeys while fostering connection and balance. Her work invites participants to engage in practices that support mental well-being, emotional regulation, and a sense of interconnectedness. With a focus on collective empowerment, she facilitates healing circles, peer support groups, and community wellness initiatives that encourage authentic connection and self-discovery. Her work centers Black and Brown women and girls as experts of their own experiences, fostering healing and resilience across generations.

Partiendo

Para finalizar la cumbre, los jóvenes se reunirán nuevamente para compartir sus conclusiones y los aspectos más destacados del día. Los jóvenes también se llevarán:

  • nuevas habilidades para el autocuidado
  • una bolsa de regalos llena de artículos de cuidado personal para apoyar su proceso de cuidarse a sí mismos. 
  • premios de la rifa
  • nuevas amistades
