Media Alert – YWCA Spokane’s Women of Achievement Luncheon Results
Spokane, WA – YWCA Spokane proudly announces the success of its 43rd annual Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon, a powerful celebration of leadership, resilience, and community support. This year’s event honored 9 outstanding women for their extraordinary contributions and raised a net total of over $260,000 in support of YWCA Spokane’s vital services for women, children, and survivors of domestic violence.
Press Release – Support Teen Survivors of Dating Violence this February
Spokane, WA – YWCA Spokane is holding an upcoming Pathways Forward conversation with community leaders to discuss the unique needs of teen survivors of dating violence. February is nationally recognized as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). Throughout February, YWCA Spokane aims to increase community awareness and understanding about the pervasive issue of teen dating violence and inspire adults to take proactive action to support young survivors.

Jeanette Hauck, CEO of the YWCA Spokane, which strives to eliminate racism and empower women, asked the crowd to commit to making violence against women a thing of the past. “Too often, survivors of violence are blamed or silenced,” she said. “That ends today. Let me make one thing clear: we are not powerless,” Hauck said. “The time for awareness has passed, and the time for action is now.”

The Women’s Opportunity Center is a great resource for women in need from getting clothes, job searching, mentoring, holistic services, and much more. They also accept many donations for those in need, have a service project called Hope for the Holidays, and volunteer work.
