Stand Against Racism 2018

On Thursday April 26th, YWCA Spokane and the Spokane community gathered together to engage in a courageous conversation at this year’s Stand Against Racism event, led by Liz Moore with the Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane (PJALS) and Ginger Ewing with Terrain. A Thoughtful discussion was facilitated using Ijeoma Oluo‘s powerful book, “So You Want To Talk About Race“.

In additional to group dialogue, Liz and Ginger provided attendees with a worksheet, pulling thought provoking questions from Oluo’s book. Guests spent time with fellow attendees exploring some of the powerful questions that invite you to take a deeper look at race, at our own experiences, at what privilege looks like in our own lives, and what we can do to step into action to fight racial oppression and support communities of color.
