An Opportunity to Learn
Each year, YWCA Spokane releases a new Racial Justice Challenge designed to build awareness and provide education around racial equity and justice. The Challenge fosters personal reflection, encourages social responsibility, and motivates participants to take meaningful action in their communities.
This year, the Challenge explores four powerful themes: misinformation, interpersonal racism, the American Dream, and the racialization of crime. Over ten week days, you'll examine how narratives shape what we believe, who we trust, and how we show up in the world.
Join to deepen your understanding, challenge assumptions, and build awareness to engage more thoughtfully with your community.
Make the most of this experience.
What to Expect
This year's Challenge takes an honest look at four critical issues shaping racial justice today. Over two weeks, participants will explore how misinformation fuels racial inequity, how everyday interpersonal racism builds into larger structural systems, who the American Dream is truly accessible to, and how race intersects with crime and criminal justice in the United States.
This series is designed to help you create dedicate time in your busy schedule to build more effective social justice habits. Consider dedicating 15-60 minutes a day to digest the Challenge content. Afterward, we suggest you hold time to reflect and discuss these topics with friends, family, and colleagues.
