Dive into the complexities of intimate partner domestic violence.

From Survive To Thrive

It is our goal at YWCA Spokane to help spread awareness and education about Intimate Partner Domestic Violence (IPDV), how it impacts our community, and what we can do to create real and lasting change.

From Survive to Thrive was formerly part of a previous “Learn & Give” awareness campaign we launched in 2020 called ONE MISSION. We believe this educational content is valuable and wanted to make sure it was easily available, year-round.

Join us to learn more about the experiences and challenges of being a survivor of domestic violence.

Before Starting

What to Expect

Examine the realities of domestic violence and the path to achieve a safer situation, challenging unrealistic expectations and assumptions placed upon victims and survivors.

As you engage with this content, you will:

  • Learn about IPDV
  • Address stigmas and misconceptions
  • Gain insight into survivors' experience and the barriers to accessing support
  • Available services for survivors and allies in Spokane

Hold Time to Reflect

Consider inviting your friends and colleagues to join you through this series. After each topic, take time to reflect because talking about the lessons helps deepen your understanding of them.

Reflection Questions:

  • How did the content make you feel?
  • What is something you learned?
  • Did you notice anything about yourself and/or your current understanding of domestic violence?
