Connie Is Feeling Confident, Polished, and Ready for Employment Success
We are celebrating Connie today, YWCA’s Women to Work program participant! Through a resource partnership with Super Cuts, Connie was able to receive a professional hair cut that has boosted her confidence and helped her feel prepared for the job search.
“I just wanted to express my gratitude and thank you for your kindness into checking on a hair cutting program that can help put “Women to Work.” I really needed a professional hair cut to make me feel more confident, polished and ready for the employment process. When Super Cuts finished with my hair I was so excited with my look. I am very gratefully for everyone’s kindness and generosity as it has given me a new positive outlook on life. Thanks so much again!”

WOMEN TO WORK PROGRAM
At the YWCA Spokane we offer a job readiness and employment support program called Women to Work. Women who are actively looking for work are met in a friendly, safe environment that offers small group and individual learning opportunities.
Each participant has access to a computer lab, will network with professionals from the community, engage in practice interviews, build a job portfolio, and receive one-on-one assistance while searching for employment.
Additional resources are provided to help participants address possible barriers to employment. Some barriers may include a lack of transportation, childcare, appropriate interview clothing, and a lack of hygiene and personal necessities items due to financial stress.
To enroll or learn more about the Women to Work program call 509-789-9299 or email Chris at chrisc@ywcaspokane.org.
