Avista Empowers Survivors

Give this March in support of domestic violence survivors.

Accelerate Action for Survivors

This March, in honor of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the Women of Avista Employee Resource Group invites you to join us in accelerating action for gender equality by supporting survivors of intimate partner domestic violence. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families served by YWCA Spokane.

Help Us Reach Our Goal!

Our goal is to raise $1,000 and collect gift-in-kind donations for YWCA Spokane’s donation-based, free clothing boutique and safe shelter this March. Your contributions will provide survivors with essential resources as they rebuild their lives.

Your Gift Changes Lives

Every contribution—big or small—makes an impact:

  • $50 covers transportation costs for a survivor with gas cards.
  • $100 provides a child with a safe, nurturing space while their parent meets with an advocate.
  • $500 supports hours of legal advocacy for a survivor navigating the court system.
  • $1,000 furnishes a survivor’s home with a new bed, blankets, and household essentials.
  • $5,000 provides a full year of housing, counseling, and legal support for a survivor.

Gift-In-Kind Needs

Consider donating much-needed items to support survivors. YWCA Spokane's free clothing boutique and domestic violence safe shelter are always in need of:

  • New deodorant & shaving supplies
  • New socks & underwear (all sizes)
  • Full-size shampoo & conditioner
  • New & gently used leggings & coats
  • African American hair care products
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Hygiene products for all genders & ages
  • Twin bedding (new/gently used)

Donation bins will be made available at designated Avista locations.

#IWD2025

The International Women's Day (IWD) 2025 campaign theme is 'Accelerate Action'.

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.

Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

Support YWCA Spokane this March and help our community move forward in solidarity toward gender equality.
