This month, we’re highlighting Asians for Collective Liberation and Asians for Collective Action political organizer, Tia Moua. Get to know Tia as she shares with us about her role and the impactful work she's achieving to support the Spokane Asian community.
About Asians for Collective Action
The organization’s values include joy and celebration, belonging, honoring complexity, and accountability. Its mission is to center the power of Asians and Asian Americans to build a just, healthy, and thriving community for all.
Asians for Collective Liberation (ACL) is a grassroots organization based in Spokane, Washington, dedicated to fostering solidarity, advocacy, and activism within the Asian community while working toward broader social justice goals. Founded with the belief that liberation is a collective and intersectional process, ACL seeks to amplify the voices of Asian individuals who have historically been marginalized, both within the Asian community and in the broader context of American society.
Rooted in the struggles of the Asian community, ACL is committed to addressing a range of issues from anti-Asian racism, immigrant rights, economic inequality, and environmental justice. The group emphasizes a shared struggle against all forms of oppression, seeking to build solidarity with other marginalized communities in Spokane and beyond. Through education, community organizing, and direct action, ACL aims to dismantle systems of injustice while uplifting the experiences and identities of Asian people.
Whether it’s through cultural programs, solidarity marches, or community-building events, ACL understands that liberation is not just about fighting for one group but for the collective freedom and dignity of all people. With a vision grounded in love, equity, and justice, Asians for Collective Liberation is paving the way for a more inclusive and just future for everyone in the region.
