Together we raised $32,512!

The 38th Annual Women of Achievement Awards Was A Success Because Of You!

Together, with the support of valued friends and organizations, YWCA Spokane celebrated the 2020 Women of Achievement awards virtually on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 and raised $32,512!

A Special Celebration

We have truly amazing individuals and organizations living out YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

Having to transition to a virtual celebration didn’t stop our team from facilitating a very special celebration of this year’s Women of Achievement awards. We are incredibly grateful to our co-hosts, Kiantha Duncan and Kris Crocker, to our event co-chairs, Anna Franklin and Laura McAloon, and to our staff and event committee for ensuring a successful and special celebration.

We had the honor of celebrating 8 amazing women who make an incredible difference in our community, listen to a powerful Keynote from Peg Currie, learn about a special matching gift opportunity, and be inspired by a mission moment that highlights our beloved community.

To help raise vital funds for YWCA Spokane, a culinary tour of Northern Quest’s award-winning restaurants was available to take home and enjoy the night of the virtual event. View The Menu. A virtual paddle raise opportunity was also made available during the virtual event which raised $32,512 towards YWCA’s ONE MISSION fundraising goal of $275,000. Thanks to Hamilton Studio, we have a beautiful recording of the event to share with you. Take a look!

Raising Critical Support For Those We Serve

YWCA Spokane is so grateful for the support received during our 2020 Women of Achievement awards celebration. Together, we raised $32,512 during the live event! It was an inspiring night!

This year, due to the pandemic, the awards celebration is offered as part of our new ONE MISSION campaign which looks to raise $275,000 in critical funds needed to serve over 17,000 women, children, and families each year by YWCA Spokane.

This October, please join us for the second part of the ONE MISSION campaign, YWCA’s Learn & Give Challenge. This challenge looks to spread awareness about domestic violence, help raise vital funds, and inspire real and lasting change in our community.

Join YWCA’s Learn & Give Challenge today and make a difference in Spokane during Domestic Violence Action Month!

Double Your Gift & Impact

During the virtual event, Carla Cicero with Numerica Credit Union announced a new matching gift opportunity supporters can take advantage of to help YWCA Spokane reach our goal of raising $275,000 by October 31st. In addition to being our signature campaign sponsor, Providence Health Care agreed to join Numerica to increase the matching gift opportunity from $15,000 to $20,000. We are so grateful to both of these organizations and Mission Partners to YWCA Spokane.

A Challenge To Join Numerica & Providence

In addition to encouraging the community to donate today to YWCA Spokane, during the virtual event Carla challenged local businesses to join Numerica and Providence by contributing towards the matching gift opportunity.  If your organization would like more information about how to join this effort please contact Dana Morris Lee, YWCA Chief Philanthropy Office at danam@ywcaspokane.org or call 509-742-0111.
